DAY 1; : ARRIVAL AT NJP RAILWAY STATION / BAGDOGRA AIRPORT – TRANSFER TO PHUENTSHOLING
Upon arrival at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra (IXB) Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to Phuentsholing, a vibrant border town nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas. This town serves as the main entry point to Bhutan from India and is a bustling commercial hub. Once you arrive, check into your hotel and take some time to relax. In the evening, you can unwind at the hotel or explore the town’s markets and surroundings at your own pace. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
DAY 2; : PHUENTSHOLING TO THIMPHU
After breakfast, complete the immigration formalities and begin your journey to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. As you ascend through scenic mountain roads, enjoy the changing landscapes and stop along the way for photos and views. On reaching Thimphu, check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the local surroundings. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
DAY 3; : THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, set out for a full day of sightseeing in Thimphu. Begin with a visit to Kuenselphodrang, home to the towering Buddha Dordenma statue, which offers panoramic views of the Thimphu valley. Then proceed to the National Memorial Chorten, built in honor of the Third King of Bhutan, and visit the Folk Heritage Museum to get an insight into traditional Bhutanese life. Later, enjoy views from the Sangaygang View Point and visit the Takin Preserve Centre, where you can see the national animal of Bhutan. Continue your cultural journey with a visit to Changangkha Lhakhang, a revered temple often visited by families with newborns for blessings. End the day at the majestic Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and the summer residence of the Chief Abbot. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
DAY 4; : THIMPHU TO PARO WITH LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Paro, one of the most picturesque valleys in Bhutan. En route, stop at Tamchog Lhakhang, a temple built by the great architect Thangthong Gyalpo, known for its iron chain bridges. Upon reaching Paro, check into your hotel and later visit the National Museum housed in Ta Dzong, which showcases Bhutanese heritage through its impressive collection of art and artifacts. Continue to Rinpung Dzong, an architectural marvel that now serves as the administrative and religious center of Paro. In the evening, explore Paro town and enjoy the local ambiance. DAY 5; : EXCURSION TO TAKTSHANG MONASTERY (TIGER’S NEST)
After an early breakfast, drive to the base of Taktshang Monastery and begin the hike to one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks. The monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor, is believed to be the meditation site of Guru Rinpoche who, according to legend, flew here on the back of a tigress. The round-trip trek takes around 4 to 5 hours depending on your pace. If time permits in the afternoon, visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a historic site built to commemorate Bhutanese victories against Tibetan invasions, and enjoy a distant view of Mt. Jhomolhari. On your return, stop by Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. Overnight stay in Paro.
DAY 6; : PARO TO PHUENTSHOLING
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Phuentsholing. Enjoy the serene landscapes one last time as you descend from the hills to the southern plains. On arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, either relaxing or taking a final walk through the town. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
DAY 7; : DEPARTURE FROM PHUENTSHOLING TO NJP RAILWAY STATION / BAGDOGRA AIRPORT
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport for your return journey, carrying with you wonderful memories of Bhutan’s culture, nature, and tranquility.
